After the Christmas season, I'm sure you're left with an overwhelming amount of photos with your friends and family that you just can't wait to scrapbook!
For this tip, I have a fun and creative scrapbook layout idea that is perfect for your jolly Christmas photos! Discover how to use tracing paper to create a lovely Christmas tree background.

The primary material that we will using for this layout is tracing paper. If you have different thickness of velum, that could work too. However tracing paper is so cheap so it might be a better option for you.
Next, get your scissors and start cutting isosceles triangles or the same shape as a Christmas tree.

Once you've cut out some triangles on one end of the paper, you'll see that you can make more with the negative side.
Keep making the triangles until you're satisfied with the amount for your page. You can also cut it in different sizes and triangle types to add variation.
Now that we have our tracing paper trees, what we'll do is layer them up on top of each other. Because of the translucent nature of the tracing paper, it will create this cool texture effect.
As you can see, after layering my trees up on my scrapbook page, it sort of became like a forest with many different trees overlapping one another.
I used a green 12x12 card stock but you can opt to use other colors that represent Christmas.
When adhering the trees to your page, don't use glue because it will show up and ruin the clean look that we are going for. Instead, just run a tape runner and start sticking the bottom part of the trees on it. That way, the top part of the trees won't have any glue or tape residue.
To finish that off and hide our tape at the bottom, I just added this black and white strip of paper at the bottom of the trees. That way, we'll be able to bring the tracing paper cutouts together more effectively.
If you don't like the black and white bottom strip, you can instead add a sort of a snow scene. I just ripped some white paper and trimmed it down accordingly to fit in my page.
I also added some little star embellishments to give it more sparkles.
And now all you have to do is add your photo and sentiment! I suggest positioning your photo on the right side like mine to keep everything nice and minimal.
It looks absolutely fantastic! Just by simply making some tracing paper cutouts, we were able to create a scrapbook page that perfectly captures the spirit of the holidays!
