Scrapbook Layout Idea: Christmas Stocking Collage

Have you got your Christmas stockings hanging by the fireplace yet? This is one of my favorite traditions on the holiday season, so I thought it'll be really cute to have a Christmas stocking scrapbook layout!

On this tip, we'll create a fantastic and colorful collage of various decorative papers in the shape of a sock! It's adorable and absolutely perfect for your holiday photos!

Watch the Video Tutorial:

The materials that you'll need are the following: cardstock, decorative paper and cardstock scraps, craft knife, pencil, scissors, tape roller or any adhesive, and pop up dots.

Let's begin!

Read the Step-by-Step Guide Below:

Step 1

The first thing we'll do is get a 12x12 cardstock or paper and draw a big sock similar to the ones we're hanging for Santa's gifts.

Don't worry too much on getting the shape perfectly, as long as it's identifiable, you should be good! If you don't want to draw it freehand, you can print an actual stocking picture and trace it onto the paper.

Wait! Now That You Have a New Scrapbook Layout Idea, Then You'll Need To Know How To Incorporate It To Your Layout....Let Me Show You...

Step 2

With a craft knife, carefully cut the shape out. Make sure not to create any other unwanted cuts so the negative side will stay intact, which is what we will be using.

Step 3

Place the sock cutout on top of the other cardstock and loosely trace it with a pencil. This will serve as our guide for later on where we should position our collage.

Step 4

Now, prepare all the different bits of cardstock and decorative paper that you have in your stash. Choose the ones with matching colors and designs that will fit well with each other.

Step 5

So I'm doing a sort of patchwork design with all these different papers and cardstock and it will sit below our cutout. Cut the papers into little pieces so we can place them one by one in our layout.

Step 6

Using a tape roller or a glue, adhere the pieces on the outline of our sock. Just play around and see which combination would look good.

Step 7

Once you have filled the sock shape, you can then place the stocking cutout on top of it. I stuck mine down with some pop up dots to give it more dimension.

Then that's it! All you have to do now is complete the layout with your choice of additional embellishments and your holiday photo.

I added a pink border and framed my photo. Here's how mine turned out:

Isn't that pretty amazing? It perfectly captured the fun and festive spirit of Christmas!
