Read the Step-by-Step Guide Below:
All you need are: a butterfly stamp, card stock, cotton buds, packing tape, acrylic paints, embellishments (preferably butterflies as well), and your gorgeous photo!
Wait! Now That You Have Butterfly Stamp and Paint Ready, Then You'll Need To Start Incorporating Them To Your Layout....Let Me Show You...
Use a packing tape to cover up the internal details of the butterfly. Trim it as well on the sides as we'll only be needing the outline of the image.
Then, adhere the sticky part of the butterfly to your cardstock as seen below.
Get your cotton buds and dab it on your acrylic paint. Go around the edges creating clusters of circles that will go over the top of your butterfly.
Don't worry too much about the integrity of your circles or dots, just make sure that the edges are completely covered to help you define the shape of your butterfly.
As you can see, I'm using two colors because I like the combination. But it's really up to you on what and how many colors you would want to use.
Also remember to use as much paint as you can without smudging underneath.
Lift the butterfly stamp using your scissors to avoid your fingers from getting into it and smudging the paint.
There is our gorgeous butterfly with all of the lovely dots coming out!
You can now add your embellishments to spruce up your layout!
Lastly, adhere your lovely photograph!
Look how pretty that is! It has created a glorious butterfly silhouette effect on my page!
So easy to do and super effective, right?
