The materials that you'll need are: few pieces of cardstock with colors that compliment, a bright colored paper for contrast, archival ink, die cut machine, embossing folder, paper cutter, stamp, and your precious photo!
Let's proceed!
Ink up your awesome stamp and place it right at the top of your contrasting colored paper.
As for me, I've got a plane that I stamped on top of my bright yellow paper!

Then place the blank part of your stamped paper in your die cutting folder. As you can see, I've got images of tree trunks on my folder.
And now, we're ready to run it down the die cut machine to imprint our desired image.
See the beautiful slight indentation effect? I love it!

Get your craft knife and carefully cut out the upper portion of the plane as seen below.
Here's a tip: For the rounder edges, you can tilt your blade slightly which allows a little bit of flexibility on the rounder edges.
Now, you are left with the half embossed and half stamped parts.
As you can see, I made another one of a different color.
Next is I trimmed both papers to make sure that they are of the same length. This is so I can let it float around the bottom of my page.
I just added the leftover pieces of the trimmed yellow paper at the top to match colors.
It's time to spruce it up with a title! Look how it instantly enhanced my son's photo!
It's super easy and fun to do!
I hope this inspired you to create more awesome DIY embellishments for your next layout!
